Meet our new Executive Director

The Southwest Montana Mountain Bike Association has been diligently searching for an Executive Director to lead the organization into the future. The Executive Board is excited to announce we have successfully hired Josh Fairchilds to the position.

We strongly believe he is an ideal candidate for the position and will provide the high level of both experience and excitement needed to lead SWMMBA into the next chapter of our history. Josh will be the First Executive Director of the organization and will help run the organization on a daily basis.

Since moving to Bozeman 17 years ago, Josh has ridden and pushed his bike through many miles of Montana front and backcountry trails.  Whether out for a quick spin on town trails after work, or committed to a big day deep in the mountains, his love for single track and beautiful wild places fuels his commitment to mountain biking in southwest Montana.

Josh is a  veteran of the outdoor industry, having worked for several iconic brands, including as a product creator at Five Ten, Co-founder of Oboz Footwear, and most recently as Senior Director at Simms Fishing.  Additionally, Josh has served as a board member for Friends of Hyalite and Friends of Joshua Tree.

With his passion for mountain biking, his love of the Bozeman community, and his business experience, Josh is ready to lead SWMMBA into the future: building trails and community, and advocating for mountain biking throughout southwest Montana.

Josh will be starting on Monday, August 15th; and the SWMMBA Executive Board could not be happier to have him leading the charge. Please help us in welcoming Josh!
